Pond Farm Pottery was officially designated a National Historic Landmark, one of the nation’s highest honors for places that have made an exceptional contribution to American history and culture. The designation recognizes Pond Farm’s extraordinary legacy as the home and teaching studio of internationally renowned ceramic artist and Bauhaus-trained master potter Marguerite Wildenhain, whose influence helped shape the American studio pottery movement.
During a special dedication ceremony, California State Parks unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark this historic achievement, celebrating the site’s enduring importance as a place of artistic innovation, education, and inspiration.
